NOTES
1. Only ten Erratics (including loan players Moseley and Robinson) lined up against a full team of Tar Barrow players.
2. The Erratics’ bowling figures have benefited from a certain eccentricity on the part of the Tar Barrow scorers.
3. The Tar Barrow batting started briskly. The brakes were applied by Jeremy Walker and Brian Berrigan (bowling again for the first time since the Hartfield game). With on-loan New Zealander Phil Robinson bowling fast and effectively, and with Brian and Bill Bush both clinging on to skiers, Tar Barrow were dismissed for a chasable total.
4. The Erratics’ innings started well, with a second wicket partnership of 67 between James Rivington and Brian Berrigan. The Erratics continued to chase the target, but kept losing wickets. At the start of the final over, the Erratics needed 15 to win (with Brian on strike), Tar Barrow needed three wickets. The final over went: dot ball — 4 runs — 2 runs — wicket (Berrigan, skied catch) — wicket (Moseley, catch) — leaving Hattam to survive the last ball to avoid defeat!
5. Man of the match: Brian Berrigan.
