Won by 7 wickets
NARRATIVE
We were originally supposed to play the Financial Times team at the Thames TV ground (all part of the Pearson group). When they couldnt raise a team, and in order not to waste the pitch booking, their skipper kindly lined us up to play a team called the Shambling Derelicts who seemed to be bolstered by members of the Evans family more normally seen playing for The Times.
Supposedly a twelve-a-side match (though with only eleven in the field) but R Waller didnt actually bat for the Shambling Derelicts. The Erratics won the toss and elected to field.
James Rodd won an oscar nomination for his reaction slip catch at slip in the process earning Brian Berrigan one of his 7 wickets (four caught, three bowled). Giles Middleton did good work to run out the Shambling No. 7.
The groundsman was a bit peeved at the slightly illegitimate use of the venue, but through him we established contact with the Pearson TV team which also used this nice venue.
