NARRATIVE
With Patrick Cheney mysteriously absent, the Erratics were kindly given a spare player by Alvington — Garry Davis. Weather: hot and sunny.
All the Erratics bowlers chipped in to prevent Alvington building a large total. The full toss proved a particularly potent weapon. Some chances were put down in the gulley early on, but Nasir Khawaja showed everyone how catching should be done. Only partnerships of 30 for the sixth wicket and 51 for the eighth prevented the Alvington score being very modest. After 37 overs, Nasir took over the gloves from Tony Richards, and duly stumped the last man off Tony’s bowling.
The Erratics batting looked good from the start. Peter Andrews accumulated efficiently, and Nasir was unlucky to miss out on a half century. The game was tamely won with a bye.
