| A 35-overs game. Shalbourne won the toss and elected to
field. |
| The established Erratics batsmen demonstrated that batting was not
easy. Peter Andrews was LBW to a ball various people thought he had hit. When James Rivington skied one back
over the bowlers head, he was unlucky to fall to a running, juggling catch. In his first match since
August 2003, Brian Berrigan was looking well set when he was hit somewhere delicate and had to retire hurt.
(On the fifth ball of that over, the bowlers knee gave way, and he had to hobble off
so it was a very long over.) Mike Long proved not nearly
quick enough to survive John Truscotts call for a quick single off a misfield. When Brian had stopped
massaging his privates, he added only one more run before having a wild swish. |
| Teenagers Tim
Green (Þ)
and Alex Padmore had been hidden down the order
where they couldnt get into any trouble. They now hit the ball lustily, putting together the highest
stand of the innings until Alex chipped the ball to sub fielder Simon Green. |
