London Erratics v Bank of England
at Roehampton

A big hit too far

Peter Andrews (he of the broken thumb) had recruited a team, but asked Nasir Khawaja to captain on the day. Unusually, it was the opposition who turned out to be a man short. The Erratics won the toss and elected to field.
A solid but rather slow opening partnership took up over half the Bank innings — finally broken by James Rivington. As the batting side tried to push the score along in the later overs, Tristan Ward helped himself to a fistful of wickets.

As Chris Dunabin ground out his first fifty for many a year, his team mates on the boundary generously debated whether this was in the best interests of the side. He was finally run out after 115 minutes at the crease. Bill Bush nobly succumbed trying to hit the winning six off the last ball of the match.
