2. In the Erratics innings, James Rivington and Tony Poulter put on 34 for the first wicket, against some very economical bowling.
The big hitters got out trying to push the score along. Brian Berrigan was caught behind, chasing a wide down the leg side — ‘reached it well!’ records the scorebook.
There was a moment of tragedy when James was dropped in the covers, and non-striker John Truscott was run out in the ensuing confusion. James continued to prop up one end,
and was still there at the end of the final 20 overs.
